How to Make a Paper Airplane That Flies Far
Master the art of flight with these simple, step-by-step instructions for folding a classic long-distance paper airplane.
- Create the center crease. Lay your paper flat in front of you. Fold it in half vertically (long ways), matching the corners perfectly, then unfold it so you have a sharp line down the middle.
- Fold the nose. Take the top two corners and fold them toward the center crease to form two triangles that meet in the middle, creating a point at the top.
- Fold the top edges again. Take the new slanted edges you just created and fold them toward the center line one more time. This makes the nose of your plane very sharp and narrow.
- Fold the body. Fold the entire plane in half along your original center crease so that all the flaps are tucked inside.
- Create the wings. Fold each side down to meet the bottom edge of the body. Press down hard on these folds to make sure the wings stay in place.
