How to Set Up Your First Kitchen Station
Learn how to organize your own cooking space with these simple steps for setting up a safe and efficient kitchen area.
- Pick your spot. Find a drawer or a low shelf that you can reach easily without standing on a chair. Make sure it is away from the stove and the sink so you have plenty of room to work.
- Clear it out. Empty the space completely. Wipe it down with a clean, damp cloth so you are starting with a fresh, clean surface.
- Group your tools. Sort your tools by how you use them. Put measuring spoons together, spatulas in another spot, and bowls in a stack. Use dividers or small bins to keep them from sliding around.
- Label your zones. Use masking tape and a marker to label where each group of tools belongs. This helps you remember where things go after you wash them.
