How to Make a Simple Pasta Dinner for Your Family

- Boil the water. Fill your large pot about three-quarters full with cold water. Ask a grown-up to place it on the stove and turn the heat to high until the water is bubbling.
- Cook the pasta. Carefully add your pasta to the boiling water. Set a timer for the number of minutes listed on the pasta box. If you are adding frozen vegetables, toss them into the pot during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
- Drain and combine. With a grown-up's help, pour the pasta and water into a colander in the sink. Put the pasta back into the pot, pour in your sauce, and stir gently until everything is warm and coated.
