How to Organize Your Craft Supplies
Learn how to sort, store, and label your favorite art materials so you can find exactly what you need for your next masterpiece.
- Gather everything together. Clear off a large table or floor space. Bring every single craft supply you own to this spot so you can see what you have.
- Sort into groups. Put items that are the same into piles. For example, make a pile for markers, one for paper, one for stickers, and one for glue and tape.
- Choose your containers. Find a home for each pile. Use small jars for tiny items like beads or buttons, and larger boxes for paper or sketchbooks. Ask a grown-up to help you find containers that fit your space.
- Make labels. Write the name of the items on an index card or piece of tape and stick it to the front of each container. This way, you will always know where things belong.
- Put it all away. Place your items into their new homes. If something doesn't fit, see if you can share a container with a similar item or ask a grown-up for a bigger box.
