How to Plan a Family Game Night
A step-by-step guide for kids to organize and host a fun, fair, and exciting game night for the whole family. HowTo: Family Edition: family how-tos that actually help.
- Choose your games. Pick two or three games that everyone can play. It is helpful to pick one game that is fast-paced and one that involves more strategy so there is something for everyone to enjoy.
- Invite your players. Let your family know when the game night will happen. Make a colorful sign or send a text to invite everyone to the 'Game Night Arena' at a specific time.
- Prepare the snacks. Ask a grown-up to help you set out snacks that are easy to eat while playing, like grapes, popcorn, or veggie sticks. Keep drinks in spill-proof cups to protect the game boards.
- Set the rules. Before you start, make sure everyone understands the rules of the game. If someone is new to a game, take a few minutes to read the instructions together.
