How to Plan a Living Room Obstacle Course
Turn your living room into an epic adventure zone with these simple steps for building your own indoor obstacle course.
- Design your map. Grab a piece of paper and draw a simple map of your living room. Mark where you want your obstacles to go, like a 'lava pit' made of pillows or a 'tunnel' made of chairs.
- Set up your stations. Place your cushions on the floor to create stepping stones. Use masking tape to create a 'balance beam' line on the carpet. Ask a grown-up to help you move any heavy furniture if you need extra room.
- Add the challenges. Place stuffed animals at different spots that you have to pick up and carry to a 'finish line' basket. Add a crawling section under a row of chairs to make it trickier.
- Time your run. Ask a grown-up to be the official timekeeper. Start at one end of the room, complete every challenge, and see how fast you can finish the course!
