How to Make a Custom Memory Matching Game

Create your own personalized memory card game using simple paper and art supplies to challenge your friends and family.

1. Measure and mark your cards. Use your ruler and pencil to draw a grid of squares on your cardstock. Aim for squares that are about 3 inches by 3 inches. You will need an even number of squares, like 12 or 16, so you have pairs.
2. Cut out the pieces. Carefully follow your pencil lines with the scissors to cut out all your squares. Make sure they are all the same size so you can't tell them apart when they are face down.
3. Draw your matching sets. Lay your squares out in pairs. Use your markers or crayons to draw the same picture on each pair. You could draw stars, smiley faces, or different colored shapes.
4. Test your game. Flip all your cards face down on a flat surface and mix them up. Take turns flipping two over at a time to see if you can find a match.
