A step-by-step guide to creating stretchy, non-sticky slime using simple household ingredients. HowTo: Family Edition: family how-tos that actually help.
- Mix the glue and color. Pour 1/2 cup of white school glue into your mixing bowl. If you want colored slime, add 1-2 drops of food coloring now and stir until the color is even.
- Add the baking soda. Measure 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and add it to the glue. Stir it well until the mixture is smooth and no clumps remain.
- Activate the slime. Slowly add 1 tablespoon of contact lens solution to the mixture while stirring constantly. You will notice the slime start to pull away from the sides of the bowl immediately.
- Knead by hand. Once the mixture is too thick to stir, take it out of the bowl. Use your hands to stretch and fold the slime for about 2-3 minutes. It will become less sticky and more stretchy as you work with it.
