How to Organize Your Craft Supplies
A simple, kid-friendly guide to sorting and storing your art materials so you can find exactly what you need for your next masterpiece.
- Clear the decks. Gather all your craft supplies into one big pile on the floor. Take everything out of your drawers, bags, and boxes so you can see exactly what you have.
- Sort by type. Create small piles for similar items. Put all your markers together, all your paper in another stack, and all your glue and tape in a third pile. If you find dried-out markers or broken crayons, ask a grown-up if they should be thrown away.
- Find a home for everything. Place your items into your bins or jars. Put small items like beads or buttons into smaller containers, and use larger boxes for paper or sketchbooks. Keep the things you use every single day, like your favorite pens, in a container that is easy to reach.
- Label your zones. Use masking tape and your markers to create labels for each bin. Stick the labels on the front so you know exactly what is inside without having to open every single box.
