How to Create Your Own Morning Checklist
Learn how to build a personalized morning checklist to help you get ready for school smoothly and independently. HowTo: Family Edition: family how-tos that actually help.
- List your morning tasks. Grab a piece of paper and write down everything you do before leaving for school. Think about getting dressed, eating breakfast, brushing your teeth, and packing your backpack. Ask a grown-up if you missed any important steps.
- Design your chart. Write your tasks in order on your poster board. Leave a small square or circle next to each item so you can check it off later. Use your markers to make it look fun and easy to read.
- Choose your check-off method. Decide how you want to mark your tasks as done. You could use stickers, a dry-erase marker if you laminate the chart, or even clothespins that you move from 'To-Do' to 'Done'.
- Find the perfect spot. Tape or hang your checklist somewhere you will see it every morning, like on your bedroom door or the refrigerator. Ask a grown-up for help to make sure it is placed safely and securely.
