How to Draw Simple Flowers
A step-by-step guide for kids to learn how to draw beautiful, simple flowers using basic shapes. HowTo: Family Edition: family how-tos that actually help.
- Draw the center. Start by drawing a small circle in the middle of your paper. This will be the center of your flower.
- Add the petals. Draw rounded 'U' shapes all around the circle, connecting them to the center piece. Keep them close together so your flower looks full.
- Draw the stem. Draw a long, straight or slightly curvy line starting from the bottom of your flower and going down to the bottom of your paper.
- Add leaves. Draw two curved lines meeting at a point on the sides of your stem to make leaves. You can add one or two leaves on each side.
- Add your colors. Use your favorite colors to fill in the petals, center, and leaves. Press lightly for light colors and harder for bright, bold colors.
