How to Build a Simple Popsicle Stick Catapult

  1. Create the base. Stack 7 popsicle sticks on top of each other. Secure both ends tightly with rubber bands so they stay in a solid stack.
  2. Make the launcher arm. Take two more popsicle sticks and stack them. Use one rubber band to secure only one end of these sticks together, leaving the other end open like a clothespin.
  3. Combine the parts. Slide the stack of 7 sticks between the two sticks from Step 2. Push the stack toward the rubber-banded end until the sticks form a 'V' shape.
  4. Attach the basket. Glue the plastic bottle cap to the top end of the upper popsicle stick. Once the glue is completely dry, you are ready to test your catapult.
