How to Make Edible Slime

Create a fun, stretchy, and safe-to-eat science experiment using simple kitchen ingredients. HowTo: Family Edition: family how-tos that actually help.

  1. Heat the ingredients. Ask a grown-up to pour the sweetened condensed milk and cornstarch into a small saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly with your spatula until the mixture begins to thicken.
  2. Cool it down. Once the mixture is thick, remove it from the heat. Let it sit in the pan for about 10 minutes until it is cool enough to touch safely.
  3. Add some color. Pour the cooled mixture into a small bowl. Add a few drops of food coloring and use your hands to knead the color in until it is all one shade.
