How to Make Stretchy Slime Using Kitchen Ingredients

Learn the science behind polymers by creating your own stretchy, squishy slime using simple items found in your kitchen.

  1. Mix the glue and water. Pour the glue into your bowl. Add the water and stir until the mixture is completely smooth and combined.
  2. Add color and baking soda. If you want colored slime, add one or two drops of food coloring now. Sprinkle in the baking soda and stir well until it is fully dissolved.
  3. Activate the slime. Add the contact lens solution to your mixture. Stir slowly. You will notice the mixture start to pull away from the sides of the bowl and get thicker.
  4. Knead by hand. Once it is too thick to stir, use your hands to pick it up and knead it. It might feel sticky at first, but keep folding and stretching it for about 2 minutes until it becomes smooth and stretchy.
