How to Organize Your Study Space
A simple, step-by-step guide to help you create a clean and focused area for your homework and creative projects. HowTo: Family Edition: family how-tos that actually help.
- Clear everything off. Take every single item off your desk and put it on the floor. Wipe the surface clean with your damp cloth so you have a fresh start.
- Sort your supplies. Group your items into three piles: things you use every day (like pencils and your laptop), things you use sometimes (like rulers or glue), and things that don't belong on your desk at all.
- Give everything a home. Place your everyday items within easy reach. Put your 'sometimes' items in a box or a drawer. Ask a grown-up if you are unsure where to put items that don't belong in your workspace.
- Keep it clear. Only keep the project you are currently working on in front of you. This helps your eyes and brain stay on the right task.
