How to Host a Family Talent Show

Learn how to organize, promote, and perform in your very own family talent show at home. HowTo: Family Edition: family how-tos that actually help.

1. Choose your stage and audience. Find a room in your house with enough space for a 'stage' area and a spot for the audience to sit. Ask a grown-up to help you arrange the chairs so everyone has a clear view.
2. Make the program. Ask your family members what their talent will be. Write their names and their acts in your notebook in the order they will perform. This is your official 'Show Program'!
3. Create invitations. Use your paper and markers to make colorful invitations for your family. Include the time, the place, and a fun name for your show, like 'The [Last Name] Family Spectacular'.
4. Set the scene. Before the show starts, make sure your music is ready and your props are nearby. You can even make a curtain out of a bedsheet if you want to be extra fancy.
5. Start the show. As the host, stand in front of the audience and introduce each performer with a big smile. Remember to clap loudly for everyone when they finish!
